His Life
November 1, 2014

Mr. Bledsoe was born on December 4, 1929 in Bill Arp, Georgia, the son of the late Esther Talley Bledsoe and Edgar Bledsoe. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. During the Korean Conflict he served honorably in the Asiatic Theater in the United States Army. His love for helping people led him to the emergency medical field which led him into serving people in Heard, Troup, and Coweta County, with service to the people of Coweta County for over twenty years. Motor Cycles were always a great fascination for him and on any given Saturday you could find him winding himself down to Weather Honda to be a part of their cycle club. Perhaps the most defining moment in his life was when his beloved wife Doris Phillips Bledsoe passed away shortly after the birth of their fifth child. It was his hard work and sheer determination that kept his family together. All who knew of his great dedication to keeping the family unit together admired him. His children and grandchildren were his life, especially the grandchildren. He was fortunate to have a dear friend, Margie Bass to do things with after his retirement. He especially loved going out to eat. He will long be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by three daughter Jean Lawrence of Newnan, GA., Jackie White of Roosterville, GA., and Janet Scott(Doyle) of Franklin, Georgia; one son Joseph Bledsoe (Gina) of Franklin, GA.; two brothers, Bill Bledsoe of LaGrange, GA, and Douglas Bledsoe of Forsyth, KY.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchilden.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife and son, Doris Phillips Bledsoe and Johnny Bledsoe.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Georgia.
