I knew Eric through his brother, Jay, his nephew Tyler, and a few times I met him personally. I know he was a talented woodworker, and that his family loved him very much. I know Jay misses him.

Eric I miss you and think of you often. It is still weird to drive by the house and see all the trappings of a new renter there. Jay was great during the big project of clearing out the house. He gave me and Marth a nice chest that reminds us of you. I ran into Michael Fleishman one day who said he needed to talk to you and had to tell him that was not going to work, he had not heard of your passing. All your old friends miss you. The memorial service was nice, Frank Wintroub spoke very nicely about all the times you helped him fix broken sailboards. You were a great friend!

It has been a blessing to get to know Eric these past 2 years while doing his personal finances. What stands uppermost in my mind and heart is his kindness and generosity. Such a dear man and friend. I have truly enjoyed hearing the stories of his life prior to his illness. Eric, may your journey now take you home to peace and freedom. You will be missed alot. Blessings to you.

Eric was an artist and a dreamer. He loved nature,especially the ocean. He always had an open door policy with his friends. Eric was kind and wise,with a great sense of humor. He loved music,western movies. and was a collector. He is much loved by all his friends, and will be missed.

Eric passed away peacefully at the University of Iowa hospital due to Pneumonia related respiratory failure. Myself and Brian and Theresa Sheehan were present.
He will be missed and remembered by many. His memorial service in Fairfield was well attended and many wonderful anecdotes were shared. There will also be a service in Madison Wisconsin in late September or early October. His ashes will be placed with his parents Fred and Patricia and his sister Elise at the Forest Hill cemetery in Madison.

Eric was and always will be a kind, thoughtful guy who wanted to help others as much as he could...that kind of spirit is needed in this world and Eric's passing, while a blessing for him in the sense he won't have to suffer physically any longer, leaves us bereft of his friendship, which will always be missed.
