"Thinking of you Carolyn and the whole family on this day. May God be near you all and give you courage to carry on. He was a brother with much Love for God and fellow man. To God be the glory that he is now in Heaven .Praying that we may all live our lives with as much dedication as he did. Love and Prayers to all."
"It is difficult to think that a whole Year has past without you ... many times I have reached for the phone to talk to you. I know there are more gray hair in my mix than a year ago, but perhaps we have grown a little more wise, certainly more conscious of the Time we have with those we Love and the need to enjoy or value it more! We are learning to Lean on Jesus more."
"Missing you today, so much has happened this last year. As we prepare Ray and Mark to leave for India over the next few weeks, I am reminded of Dad praying over Ray and blessing him on his mission to India and the passing of the passion for India from Dad to Son in law and now it is being shared with his Grandson Mark too. LOVED YOU DAD!"
"This morning with the turning leaves, I was once again reminded how fleeting life is and how our legacy is the way we speak into people's lives. Ernie was so good at that and I feel blessed to have known him. I know I will see him again and we will rejoice forever in the light of Christ's love!"
"One year ago today I had to let you go, and it was the most traumatic moment of my life. In this year without you I have been able to find my smile and laugh again, but I still cannot let you go. When I think of that day I still cannot breathe. You were my complete love, and I will always, always love you."
"You know that I am missing you this Christmas Ernie - but mostly my heart is hurting for your precious Carolyn and the pain and emptiness that she is still going through.
For You? We can only Imagine how Heaven is Celebrating this awesome Christmas ... and YOU can hear the Angels singing those Praises. GLORY to GOD in the Highest"
It was a pleasure to know you for the short time that you were our neighbour. You were always willing to lend a hand. Our driveway conversations were always helpful and inspirational. You will be missed."
"It is because of you that I am who I am today. You were one of those people in my life that I can say guided my way...I am reading a book you recommended; "It all goes back in the box" by John Ortberg. A quote makes me think., "What in your life is going to last forever...""
"I have to thank Alma for knowing Ernie. But,I am glad to have known him through your videos. Ernie, you started the race and did not give up and now you have finished the race. You now are starting a new life in the Kingdom of God. One day I will see you and meet with you."
"Rob and I are deeply sadden by Ernie's passing. He was the kindess, loving, caring person that we were priviledged to know. God now has him in the palm of His hand. Our deepest sympathy to Carolyn and family. Ernie you will be missed."
"I had the privilege of knowing Ernie while he was the World Team Canada Director. His heart and passion for others was evident each time I met and talked with him. We as the World Team community are grateful to God for the opportunty to know and work with him."
"At a time when truth is a "relative" commodity, honesty is a quality with diminished value, hard work in the service of others is frequently scorned, and devotion to family is often neglected, Ernie stood as a leader countering these trends. I was privileged to be his friend."
"My heart goes out to all of Ernie's family! The Dyck family have been thru a lot lately with the passing of our loved ones. I think it has brought us a lot closer together. The tears never end, but the celebration of life continues on! God bless u all!"
"Ernie was the most patient loving man I have ever met. He thought nothing of spending time with you until you understood a concept or a task. You never felt you were wasting his time. He always made you feel valued. What a legacy to leave us. What Christ-like character!"
"I watched the videos you set up Carolyn, and that inspired me to send a song to this site that really expressed what I am feeling about the loss of Ernie - peace and god speed Ernie!!"
"My wife Lil too died of cancer in 2008 at the young age of 68. However cancer cannot reduce eternal life or lesson the power of the resurrection. My thoughts, prayers, and condolence go out to my cousins the Dyck family"
"We are sorry to hear that Ernie has passed. Good friend and terrific neighbour as we have just learned of his passing in the Saturday Star. He will be greatly missed, not just to us, but to everyone his life has touched. God bless him and his family."
"I never knew a kinder gentler soul, the kind of person that would look deep into your heart and listen to what is happening from the inside out. A true pastor, friend, man, and inspirational Jesus-follower. My only consolation is knowing he has met the Father face2face. ty Lord"
"Even though we only had the privilege of knowing Ernie for a year, it was very evident that he loved the Lord and that it was his wish that everyone else would know that joy as well. We will miss spending time with Ernie and we will miss him at home church. Frank & Joanne"
"Thank you Ernie for the influence and love you put into your daughters life. She loves you endlessly and we speak of you often to Tobias, we love you and will keep you with us forever."
"On this your birthday, remembering all the ones we shared, particularly the very first one that special night September 30, 2003. I miss you more than I can bear."
"Great sadness has entered our hearts as Pedro and I reflect on the loss of the sweet humble man that we were privileged to call a friend and a brother of Christ. Our hearts and prayers are with you Carolyn during this time of bitter sweetness- your witness of your love for Ernie can never be measur"
"I first met Ernie when he and his wife came as cooks to the World Team Institute (WIN) at Crieff Hills. What a fun-filled man, and with a great passion for the lost! It was that passion that brought him into WT Canada as director. I have precious memories of times we shared."
"My experiences of Ernie were of a very kind and gracious man and I know he is being greatly loved by God at this very moment. I also know he will be greatly missed and my thoughts and prayers are with you."
"Beautifully done, Carolyn-you have been such a bright light in my brother's life. Thank you.."Life is NOT measured by the years that we live, but by the Joys that we give" and God gifted my brother Ernie with that ability to always create that extra special spark to every moment"
"It was with a heavy heart I read Carolyn's email, but we can rejoice together knowing Ernie is now resting in the arms of his heavenly Father. Donna and I will continue to remember you and your family in our prayers."
"Thank you Ernie for giving the gift of your love to my sister Carolyn, and to my nieces Jessica and Mikaela. May you now rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord."
"I am so sorry to hear this, but thankful that Ernie has moved to heaven to be with the Saviour he loved so very much ... He was a wonderful man, you had a special and unusual love, I pray that his memory comforts you during the next stage of your life. xoxoxox"
"Death can never extinguish the love between us. It cannot suppress our faith. It cannot restrain our hopes. It cannot tarnish our memories. It cannot silence our courage. And it cannot steal eternal life. Ernie's special life will not go unwitnessed because I will be his witness."
