Her Life

Mrs. Ethel Mae Winston, the daughter of the late Joseph and Fannie Kate Cooper Lipscomb was born March 25, 1934 in Chambers County, AL.  She departed this life on Thursday, April 28, 2012 at Lanier Nursing Home, Valley, AL.

She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with the Emanuel Chapel CME Church.  Ethel was a product of the Tenth Street School.

 

She retired from Peabody Mfg. with over 20 years of service.  After retirement she later was employed with Kesslers Department Store. Ethel Kate never met a stranger.  She always greeted her friends and neighbors with a smile.

 

Ethel Mae was preceded in death by sisters, Alberta McCullough, Fannie Lipscomb, Annie Lee Cotton, Connie Lipscomb and a brother, Willie Gene Lipscomb.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Tommy Winston, West Pont, GA; three daughters, Cynthia Crawford, Hampton, GA; Sylvia (Michael) Greenwood,Olympia, WA; Audrey (Curtis) Winston, Valley, AL; one sister, Clara Davidson, West Point, GA; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends; a special nephew, Jerome McCullough, West Point, GA; special friend, Bettye Tyner, Tracey Heard, Jamie Walker and Vincent Murphy.
