Evelyn Whitfield Jost, 90, a resident of Stem passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
A native of Granville County, the widow of Lt. Colonel George Richard Jost and the daughter of the late George and Allie Belle Stem Whitfield and a descendant of the Dukes. She was a member of Tally Ho First Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Tally Ho First Baptist Church by Rev. Eddie Nutt and Dr. Reg Johnson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane Jost Johnson (Reg) of Wilmore, KY, Debi Jost Brotherton (Barry) of Stem, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by nine siblings. Flowers accepted and memorials may be made to Tally Ho First Baptist Church, 1692 Sanders Road, Stem, NC 27581.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 PM Tuesday July 16th 2013 prior to the service at the Tally Ho First Baptist.
Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor is assisting the Jost family.
