Her Life
September 26, 2014

Mrs. Fannie L. Smith, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Reed, was born August 20, 1919 in West Point, GA. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Florence Hand Nursing Home, LaGrange, GA.

Fannie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with The True Love Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L. W. Booker. Here, she remained a faithful member until her failing health. Fannie was a member of The Missionary Society and was the Mother of the Church.

She was employed by the Stewart family for many years and assisted in the rearing the family’s five boys. Fannie enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She loved to preserve fruits and vegetables and was always willing to her preservatives with others. During Fannie’s earlier years you could always find her on the river banks, or a at lake fishing. She would fish for sun up to dust dark. Fannie always greeted you a “big smile.”

In 1939 Fannie met and married Eddie B. Smith, who preceded her in death.

Fannie was very proud of her remodeled home and was very appreciative to the Fuller Center.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a special friend, whom she considered as her daughter, Kim (Dennis) Roberts, Lanett, AL; a sister, Willie Kate Thompson, Detroit, MI, a special niece, Patricia Hill, Baltimore, MD, an array of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
