Biography

Mr. Tajong, Fidelis Mofor was born in Lewoh Fotabong on November 20th 1953 to Mbe Tajongateh and Mama Aleambeh Francisca. He was the last child out of the six (6) boys of Mama Aleambeh Francisca. He attended Catholic School Lewoh, Fotabong in the early grades and transferred to Kumba where he had his First School Leaving Certificate from Sacred Heart Fiango.

After teaching as a P.T. teacher in Sacred Heart Fiango, he enrolled in Catholic Mission Teachers Training College in Nchang Mamfe where he obtained his Grade II Teachers’ Certificate in 1974. He was posted to Catholic School Bota, Limbe where he taught until he was picked up as a government teacher the following year and posted to Government School, Ideanau. He was later transferred to Bota Middle Farm Government School and later to Government School down Beach Limbe where he served as Head teacher. During this time he obtained both the GCE O Levels and A Levels as well as  the teacher's grade one Certificate. He also served as Head Teacher in government schools in Mutenegene, Tiko, and Malende before being re-assigned to the Divisional Delegation Limbe where he served until his retirement. In addition to his teaching career he served as a soccer (football) referee for several years handling second division matches. He got married to Madam Esther Tajong in 1979. Ndi Nkemajong (Tajong Fidelis) migrated to the United States with his family in 2002 after a very successful public service career in Cameroon and since then has lived a quiet and hardworking and loving life in New York. 

He leaves behind a wife, a brother, six (6) daughters and two (2) grand children to mourn him. He also remains so dear in the hearts of his family and many others and will be remembered as a very dynamic easy going person with little or no grudges with anyone. He leaves behind the legacy of an active community organizer and builder. He was a member of LECUDEM in both Limbe and USA, an active member of the Lebialem Community in New York and also a member of the Cameroon Cultural Association in New York City. May he Rest in Peace.
