A native of Birmingham, AL., she was the daughter of the late Beulah King Mays. Residing in Columbus most of her life, she was a retired Domestic Engineer and a member of Greater Shady Grove Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rema Giles; a son and daughter, Remus Giles, Jr., and Willie Mae Lynch and siblings, the Rev. Primus King, Gussie Horne, Sadie King and Arthur Mays.

Surviving are six sons, Willie Lee Giles, Rev. Curtis D. Giles(Edith), Thomas Giles, Jerome Giles(Sandra), Larry Giles and Rickey Giles; one daughter, Glenda Giles; 20 grandchildren and a host of great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
