Funeral  services for Floyd C. Huebner, 81, of Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, at  the Home for Funerals. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with military  rites conducted by the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard, American Legion  Post 16 and VFW Post 1644... Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at  the Home for Funerals.

Mr.  Huebner died October 31, 2011 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

Floyd  was born on March 27, 1930, in Coopers, Alabama, the son of Otto and Martha  (Gilmore) Huebner. He was raised in Norfolk and attended Norfolk Senior High  School.

He  entered the US Air Force on January 21, 1947 and earned his honorable discharge  on September 11, 1953. He served as a mechanic.

On  July 6, 1952, Floyd married Bernice Strong at the Stewart Air Force Base in New  York.

Floyd  entered the US Army on November 25, 1953, and again served as a mechanic. He  received his second honorable discharge on May 31, 1967, having retired after 20 years of service.

The  couple moved to Bradshaw, NE, when Floyd was employed at the Grand Island  Ammunitions Depot. Later, Floyd was employed by Peter Kiewit Construction in  Big Springs.  They returned to Nebraska  when he began working for Geis Motors in York. In 2002, Floyd retired to  Niobrara.

He  and his wife moved to Norfolk where he was affectionately referred to as Santa  Claus.

Floyd  enjoyed working on cars, doing woodwork, doing crafts and doing ceramics. He  especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Floyd  is survived by his children and their spouses: Sheila and Bill Stubbs, of  Omaha, Roger Huebner, of Norfolk and Angelia and Duane Wessel, of Norfolk; 9  grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister, Flossie Alt, of Battle Creek and sister-in-law Betty Strong of Newman Grove, NE.

He  was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters and his wife Bernice.
