I remember Uncle Stub with great fondness. He was the soldier that got to come home from the war, worked at the post office at what we considered a special job, and gave us the only cousin that we knew well, Diann, (because we lived for many years, in close proximity). He carried the Couchman sense of humor, had a great laugh, always seemed interested in my sisters and I, and our Dad, as next older brother, was especially close to him.

Uncle Stub was one of my husband Donald Johnson's younger uncles. From the first time I met him I really thought he was great! He had that Couchman "infectious laugh. He was so "handsome", as a young bride of Don's I was quite smitten. I told everyone in 1950 that I had an uncle that looked just like the movie star Dana Andrews. I liked him very much and it was a privilege to know him for so long.
