His Life

Frank did it his way and we loved him for it!

Francesco Anthony Di Mauro (Frank “the Florist”) passed away June 14, 2012, in Spokane Washington. He was born on October 9, 1939, to Giuseppe and Margherita Di Mauro in Brooklyn NY. He attended St. Simon and Jude Elementary School. He spent his early years on the stock market floor on Wall Street. He was an entrepreneur and had several successful businesses.  He has a small restaurant called County Cone in upstate NY. Frank was an incredible cook and everyone loved his Pizza, Pasta, and Calzones. Frank was a snow bird for many years before he decided to settle permanently on his beloved Fort Myers Beach, Florida. He opened Fort Myers Beach Florist and became a staple there for over 20 years, known as “Frank the Florist” Frank loved life; he loved to entertain, always helped and constantly went out of his way to help. He loved large and was the nicest person you would ever have the privilege of knowing. In 2008 after a battling heart surgery, during a routine examination, doctors discovered Stomach Cancer. Frank fought long and hard and survived many obstacles in the last few years. He moved to Spokane Washington in January of 2012 to be near his family. He found a wonderful apartment which he enjoyed immensely made many friends. He fought the good fight with lots of hope but God wanted him with him. It was time. In the end he was surrounded by his loved ones and peacefully entered the arms of God.  He will be interred in the Guardian Angel Wing at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane Washington.

 

He is also preceded in death by his parents and brothers Louis Di Mauro and Roy Carlson, his cats, Daisy, Snowflake and Shadow, and his Springer Spaniels, Hoogie, Brittany, and Luke. Frank is survived by his brother Albert Ingrassia, his daughter Marguerite Di Mauro Son in law, Carl Stephenson, Grandchildren, Louis Joseph DiMauro and Anthony Giovanni Ayling.
