Frank, I can hardly believe it has been nearly 7 years since you went home to be with your Lord and Savior. I will always be grateful that God sent Debbie into my life even only for a short time. Because of Debbie our family met you and after her passing you became an integral part of our family and our lives. You were a wonderful stepdad. Thank you for loving my mother and caring for her till the end. She loved you more than life. We miss you both terribly but know that you, Debbie, mom and my dad are all together in heaven and at peace. Today more than ever I am thankful for your service as a police officer. Thank you for the insight to that difficult job that you were so proud to hold. You shared difficult stories and hilarious stories of your time on the force. I will never forget the times the family sat around the table and laughed hysterically at some of the calls you made while on duty. You truly loved the Lord and I can't help but think of you right now. I miss you and mom so much. For such a time as this.

Frank was the kindest of men, a wonderful husband to my mom, Anita, for 16 years, a great stepdad and an awesome grandfather. He loved the Lord with all his heart, soul and mind. He had a great capacity to love and care for others.
I will miss you! - until we meet again:)

Frank and Anita Coffman

October 21, 2013

Frank was the kindest of men, a wonderful husband to my mom, Anita, for 16 years, a great stepdad and an awesome grandfather. He loved the Lord with all his heart, soul and mind.  He had a great capacity to love and care for others.  My family’s connection with Frank began with an introduction through Frank’s first wife, Debbie. Debbie worked in a dress shop owned by my sister, Kathy. Kathy always noticed and admired how much Frank doted on Debbie and how incredibly caring he was toward her.  When Debbie passed away tragically and unexpectedly, Frank was in deep mourning. He was not functioning well alone. Apparently, he needed someone to take care of and love. From my perspective, this is the essence of who he is.  Sadly, my father also passed many years ago. So both Frank and Anita needed a new life and new love, and they found it in each other.

Kathy arranged to introduce Frank and my mom at church. Soon afterward, they married, and Frank became a much cherished part of our family. My mom loved him dearly and reveled in being loved by him. Frank has been a grandpa to our five children for these past 20+ years; he delighted in them, and they loved him.  He and my mom enjoyed a season of wonderful, vibrant, loving years together. They loved to perform in the Christmas productions at church. Frank sang and played his trumpet in church and was especially known for his rendition of “The Lighthouse.” (Does anyone have a recording of him singing this song that you can post?) Frank and Anita sang together in church. One of our family’s greatest treasures is the recording of them singing “Surely the Presence.” They enjoyed traveling together to many parts of the U.S.A. and in one postcard proclaimed, “We are having the time of our lives!” To our great sorrow, my mom developed breast cancer. Frank loved her and cared for her till she passed in July, 2008. I don’t believe anyone has ever been loved or cared for any better than what Frank gave to my mom. He was exceptional.

Frank, I know from my last visit with you that your body was finished with this world and you were ready to go home. My heart sings with joy for you as I picture you meeting Jesus and reconnecting with all those you love that have gone before you. I will miss you till we meet again!
