My cousin Lesley and her husband joined you in heaven this year. If you see them be sure to tell them we said hello.
Frank was born February 26th, 1930 in Buffalo, NY to Lewis G. Wells and Mildred S. Wells nee Slossman.
Raised by his mother and his grandmother, Frank excelled in sports and played semi-pro football when he was seventeen for Dan Murphy’s Bar and Grill in Buffalo. After graduating high school he studied to be an electrical engineer and briefly worked with Westinghouse. He attended Lawrenceville School for a year in preparation for Princeton University where he graduated Cum Laude in 1954 with a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature. He then attended Harvard Business School before joining his father and grandfather in the fundraising business.
Frank worked in New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Switzerland and England opening up businesses and soon became the CEO of Wells Organizations, Wells International and Wells Fundraising Consultants, directing such successes as Westminster Abbey, Magdelene College Oxford, raising of the Mary Rose, the Iron Gorge Museum, Cambridge College and the Grand National to name a few in England. Frank returned to the U.S. in '83 and retired in '94. There were hundreds of individual churches and hospitals internationally who benefited from Frank’s expertise over the years. He had a great gift and enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life - from the richest to the poorest. He was a happy soul who adored his family and was especially proud of his children.
