Fred Thomas Coley Jr., 77, a lifetime resident of Granville County, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at his home.

A native of Granville County, the son of the late Fred Thomas Coley and Irma Hart Coley. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, was parts manager at Black Industries for many years , farmed and worked with South Granville Water and Sewer Authority (WASA).

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by Dr. Marc Tilley. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-five years, Jean C. Coley of the home, a daughter, Beth C. Denton (Ed) of Louisburg, a son, Brad T. Coley (Lorie) of Wilton, a sister, Mary C. Wright of Henderson, a granddaughter, Mackenzie Coley and a grandson Waylon Coley.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 745 Creedmoor, NC 27522.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, January 13, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and at other times at the home.

Mr.Coley was a pleasure to have known .I use to love to see him come in the store at Wilton.He was the perfect example of a true. Gentleman,You will be truely missed.

I worked at Black Industries for 27 years and knew Fred during that time. He was always so pleasant no matter what was happening. When it snowed he would pick up the girls that lived in and around Creedmoor and take them to work. Fred was a good person and a southern gentleman. I am glad I knew Fred. Prayers for his loved ones.

I will always remember him each time I see someone light up a pipe. He had such a calming and loving attitude towards everyone. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends that he touched. I will miss you Uncle Fred.

Jean, Beth & family. I was sorry to hear of Mr. Fred's death. He was always so kind & good to me & my family. I remember him laughing at Beth & I when we spent time together. God bless each of you. You will be in my prayers. Love Robin (Overton) Lewis.
