My grandaddy worked hard all his life. He was a veteran of WW II but most importantly he choose to be my daddy's father. He will forever be missed.
Garnie Anderson Elliott, 87, a resident of 9153 Cornwall Road, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC.
A native of Granville County, the widower of Mary Matthews Elliott and the son of the late Boss Lee and Minnie Belle Bray Elliott. He was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Grassy Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Woodrow Freeze. Burial will be in church cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Jerry G. Elliott of Oxford, five sisters, Erselle Cole, Hazel Tuck, Charlotte Cox, Mary Ann Hughes and Ernestine Newton, two brothers, Herman Elliott, Bobby Elliott, and two grandchildren.
Visitation 7:00 – 8:30 PM Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Eakes Funeral Home, Inc. in Oxford and other times at the home.
