His Life
October 6, 2014

Gary's loves were the Panthers, Oklahoma Football,Nascar. He played the guitar, and

was a gun collector, he once owned a Harley Davidson and loved biking.

He worked at the same family owned paint store first in Belmont and then Gastonia , North Carolina,Rainbow paints. His boss Steve Barkley and his wife Pam were like family to him.

Although Gary was  a quiet man , he had many wonderful friends that he loved very much.

His most recent memorable event was a  Panther tailgate gathering on September 14th. His brother Frank and several of Gary's friends took him , and he was able to have his picture taken with the president of the Panthers. He also got an autographed Panther hat .

When Gary was diagnosed with cancer his brother Frank and his cousin Steve were with him. True to his nature, he courageously accepted his diagnosis, without anger, and he never complained, not even once.
Frank brought Gary out to California, to be with he and Julie. His time spent with Frank and Julie was way too short, but he had the most  great care
from Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara.
We were so thankful that God provided a place for him at Sarah House where he got 24 hour loving care. The staff at Sarah House also administed love and care to Frank and Julie.

Gary was a kind and gentle soul, and he will be forever missed!
