Gene A. Roderick passed away on September 20, 2013.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Ival and Roy Roderick.  He is survived by his son, Alan Roderick and daughter-in-law, Tam-Nhi Nguyen (Dallas, TX), his brother, Dale Roderick (Genoa City, WI), his sister, Sherry Roderick (Greeneville, TN), and his brother Pat Roderick (Greeneville, TN).  

He was a jeweler for over 40 years.  He was known for his carefree attitude and sense of humor.  His hobbies included camping, fishing, hunting, and music. He also became an advocate against cruelty to horses, esp. in racing. 

He has donated his body to the UT Southwestern Willed Body Program for medical study and research.  A private memorial service will be held for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Equine Fund through the ASPCA.
