Mrs. Gent will be missed dearly she was my grandmother Alora Acres best friend. I remember how they use to be on the Usher board at Evening Spring Baptist Church and they knew how to cook the best soul food dinners that kept a smile on your face because the food was so good. Mrs. Gent and my grandmother would talk and laugh on the phone for hours everyday...not a day went by my grandmother wouldn't call me or my sister and tell us "Call Gensie Thomas...644- 15??" I will never forget that phone number. R.I.P Mrs. Gent now you're in heaven with my grandmother....two best friends reunited.

I will always love my Grandma Gensie Lue, she was a very inspiring and an uplifting Grandmother. She taught me sooo much, and I learned a lot from her, she really taught me how to cook, clean and to press hair. I will always remember how she use to fish, made her homemade ice cream, her wonderful homemade biscuits, her yeast bread, made all kind of cakes and pies, and did her canning of all kind of fruits that she picked from the fields, the delicious dill pickles that she made. She was a very, very great cook. She did so much for me. I will miss her dearly. I will miss talking to her all the time and looking forward to celebrating her birthdays. I was so looking forward to celebrating her 102nd birthday, which were 3 months away. I love you Grandma Gent. You really will be missed. Gensie Lue Thomas, better known as "Gent". To many as Gensie Lou. Rest Peacefully Darling. Your oldest Granddaughter.
