George was a Youth Counselor at the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center.  In this capacity George would provide career development services to homeless, disabled, & at-risk youth ages 17-25. In order to place these young people into organizations, George developed & maintain jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities with outside organizations & employers.  George belonged to the GLBT Professionals (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans, and Friends)

George's work was featured in the April 2010 issue of Vanguard magazine (http://tinyurl.com/nuj5ug9).

The program that George worked in (YEP, Youth Employment Program) is mentioned again in the March 2011 issue (http://tinyurl.com/kb56yz7).  In George's words: "Focused on the different steps of the Youth Employment Program, and how it helps at-risk & homeless youth obtain employment."
