It is hard to believe that it has been 26 long years since I last saw you.  I miss you so much

George Lewis Lyon was born July 24, 1914, in Falls, WV.  He was the son of John Milton and Eliza Gertrude Schell Lyon.  He had three brothers--James Hubert, Robert Milton, and Luther Otis.  He had four sisters--Clara Hazel, Lucy Virginia, Nina Gladys and Emily Jane.  He served in World War II.  He was in England, France, and Germany but his favorite place was Holland.   He was father to one daughter--Carolyn Sue Lyon Grubb Dean.  Proud grandfather of Marvin Ellis Grubb Jr. and Brandee Nicole Dean and great grandfather to Daymein Dacoata Grubb.  He passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland MD on May 7, 1988.


He always looked out for his friends, no matter how bad he felt himself.  I remember when a neighbor was sick, he would walk down everyday to check on him--even though he was sick himself.  He never complained and I know there were times when he was in a lot of pain from the cancer, but he never complained.  Even in the end while he in the hospital he was making plans on what he was going to do with Nikki when he came home.  That was what he always called Brandee--Nikki.  They were going to go for walks in the woods.
