Mr. George Thomas Higgins was born April 7, 1937 in West Point, GA to the late Henry Lewis and Willie Bell Hughley Higgins. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 28, 2015.

George attended school in West Point and later moved to Atlanta, GA, where he met and married his wife and into this union five beautiful children were born.

George was known as the one in the family as having health problems due to an early football injury. He became seriously ill in 2006 and lived with his sister until her death in 2008. Afterward he became a resident of Legacy Nursing Home, Atlanta, GA, where he lived until his death.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children; two children, Vicki and George Higgins, Jr.; four brothers, Bobby, Walter Lee, Leroy and Otis Higgins; two sisters, Annie Maude Robinson, and Evelyn Brooks.

George leaves to cherish his memories: three children, Elaine , Vanessa and Lorenzo Higgins, Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Horace(Iris) Higgins, Tony Higgins, Atlanta, GA; five sisters, Doris Higgins, Willie Ruth Higgins, Atlanta, GA, Ruby(Clarence) Jones, Lithonia, GA, Mary Alice Brewer, LaGrange, GA and Katie Ruth Thomas, Buffalo, NY, sister-in-law, Mary A. Higgins, West Point, GA; a devoted nephew, Naye (AC Booker-Higgins),a and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and other relatives and friends.
