The daughter of the late Joe Lewis and Annie Kate Banks, Mrs. Dozier was born in Columbus, GA and was raised in Midland, GA. She was a 1955 graduate of William H. Spencer High School and obtained a degree in Nursing. She was employed for over 33 years with Swift Textiles. She was a member of St. James CME Church where she served diligently with the Stewardess Board, Usher's Ministry, Mother' Board, Bible Study and Sunday School. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dozier, Jr., a grandson, Carlos Cordero, a brother, Billy Scott, and a sister-in-law, Johnette Kelley.

Survivors include: her son, Philander Dozier; four daughters, Velisa Jones (Venson), Temeta Cordero, Phyllis Malone (Larry) and Vickey Dozier; a son-in-law, Lidel Cordero; seven grandchildren, Tameika Brooks, Shari Roy(Marquis), Lakitta Jones, Isaiah Malone,Sheka Jones, Kaneisha and Tennille Hubbard; two sisters-in-law, Essie Jones and Beretha Brooks; an aunt, Gussie Mays; a devoted friend, Kallie Patmon (Douglas); cousins, Thomas Still, Sr. and Bessie Barnes; other loving relatives and friends.
