Gilbert was born in Paris, Tennessee on August 21, 1917. He is a WW2 veteran proudly serving his country. He married Hilda in 1944 and had one daughter, Kathy. He owned his own business for over 50 years serving people in Carrollton, selling and servicing appliances. He was known for his honesty and kind manner. He loved his family with all his heart. He has one grandson, Scott Shafer, who is now in heaven with him. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, one daughter, and two beautiful great-granddaughters, Jaynie and Maddie. He is sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Mom joined Dad in heaven on Nov. 23, 2012.
