Glenn Herbolsheimer Obiturary

Glenn James Herbolsheimer, age 89 of Scribner, Nebraska passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
     Glenn was born April 13, 1934 to Fred and Edith (Boll) Herbolsheimer.  He was baptized May 13, 1934 at St Peter’s Lutheran Church and he confirmed his faith in the Lord on May 16, 1948. He graduated from Scribner High School in 1953 and on June 16, 1954 Glenn married his high school sweetheart, Marleen Mauch. Together they were blessed with 8 children.
     Glenn is survived by his wife Marleen, his children: Peggy (David) Volpp. Donald Herbolsheimer. Debbie (Leonard) Schreck. Susan Lovelady. Paul (Ronda) Herbolsheimer. Steve Herbolsheimer (Linda). Judy Faketty.  He is also survived by brother Gerald (Bonnie) Herbolsheimer, 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren along with two nephews and many cousins and extended family.
     Glenn was greeted in heaven by his infant son James John.  He was also proceeded in death by his parents, infant sister Dorothy, stepmother Frieda, and mother-in-law Leona Mahrt along with many of his close friends.
     “Herby” was born a son and left this world as a great grandfather. In between he wore many hats. Some include fire fighter, saddle club member, bus driver (Big Blue), scout leader and lifeguard/swim instructor. Herby was most known for being a car salesman and someone who never met a stranger. Herby enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, card playing and being around family and friends.
     Visitation will be Wednesday, November 1st at Ludvigsen’s Scribner Funeral Chapel from 4pm-7pm.
     If you’ve bought a car from Herby, in his honor, please join the family and take a main with us following visitation. 
     Funeral services are scheduled at St Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner on Thursday, November 2nd at 2pm with viewing at the Church one hour prior to service. Graveside service to follow at Scribner Cemetery.

  Family suggests memorials be directed to the Scribner Volunteer Fire Department.
