Her Life

Mrs. Gloria Jean Gaddis-Pearson  was born May 9, 1955 to the union of the late Alvin Troy Gaddis, Sr. and Estella Harrell Gaddis. She was the twelfth child of thirteen. Gloria departed this life Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 4:47a.m. at her resident. She graduated from Goodwater Alabama High School Class of 1973. Gloria gave her life to Christ at an early age, joining  St. James A.M.E. Church of Goodwater, Alabama. She served in different ministries including, Sunday School Teacher, where her sons were students at an early age. Gloria faithfully enjoyed Sunday school, worship services, and Bible study until her health intervened. She read her Bible daily and would often have Bible study with her brother C.J. and her sister Mary via telephone.

She had a loving, giving, generous and compassionate heart. Humble and reserved, Gloria worked at Russell Mills for 12 years and later on worked for Goodwater Health Care Center for 13 years before her health intervened.

Gloria  leaves  behind  to  cherish  her  memories,  two  beloved  sons, James Terrell Trimble (Madeline) of Deltona, Florida, Denzel S. Pearson, Goodwater, Alabama; three sisters, Emma J. Gilliam ofHempstead, L. I., New York, Mary L. Strong (Dan) Cleveland, Ohio, Carolyn Gaddis, Goodwater, Alabama; three brothers, David Gaddis, Anniston, Alabama, Leo Gaddis, Sr. (Eula Gaye) Goodwater, Alabama. C.J.J.R. Gaddis, Montgomery, Alabama; three grandchildren, Jada, Meilani, and Trace; four sisters-in-law, Annie L. Gaddis, Sylacauga, Alabama, Ida Gaddis, Talledega, Alabama, Mary Ruth Gaddis,  Goodwater,  Alabama,  Eula  Gay  Gaddis,  Goodwater,  Alabama, Ingrid Taylor Gaddis, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; one aunt Hilda Ruth Harrell. One son preceded her in death, Senior Airman Brent LeMar Pearson; one sister, Annie M.; five brothers, Troy Jr., Fred, Melvin, Wiley, Julius,  all preceded her in death. Gloria also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Friend Nyesha Moon; friend of more than 45 years, Martha Ann Hayes-Johnson;  friend  and  caregiver, James "Jamie"  Bean;  two  special nieces, Mary J. and Bonnie.
