Her Life
July 20, 2016

Mrs. Stephens was born in Dothan, Alabama on November 13, 1947, the daughter of the late, Lucille Turrant Grace and Lewis William Grace. She was Baptist by faith. When her health was good she loved working in the yard, where she grew wonderful vegetable, with which she fed her family, and beautiful flowers for all to enjoy! She set aside a certain time every afternoon to watch her favorite soap operas. Her friends were always very important to her. She enjoyed them coming to visit, and had fun going to the Centralhatchee Community Center to play Bunco! It was her family however, that was the most important thing in her life. Caring for her beloved grandchildren while their parents worked was top on her list. It was during this special time that she was able to teach all the special things that a growing child needs to know. Mrs. Gloria was a devoted wife to her late husband, and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three daughters, Teresa Stephens Shelnutt of Buchanan, GA., Kristie, and Cheryl Stephens, both of Franklin, GA.; two sons, Kevin and Michael Stephens also of Franklin, GA.; one sister, Merlene Moore of Brunswick, GA.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alton Stevens, and three dear brothers, Joey, Bobby, and Junior Grace.
