Mrs. Combs was born in LaGrange, Georgia on November 25, 1938, the daughter of the late Jonnie Douglas White and Clara Lee McCard White.

She was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church. For over twenty years Mrs. Combs worked in the Heard County High School Lunch Room where she served in many different capacities and in later years as the manager. Her wonderful meals helped the young people thrive academically. Her joy of serving these students will long be remembered. She was a loving wife and mother, and her children lovingly refer to her not only as a mother, but their best friend. They pay tribute to her wonderful teaching, and for making them what they have become. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Jerrel “Jerry” Combs of Franklin, GA.; two daughters, Lynn and Keith Costley, and Lisa Combs all of Franklin, GA.; one son, Sammy and Carolyn Combs of Grantville, GA.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
