I remembered you Today

August 22, 2020
  • Uncle,
We remember him today, the day he left us. I remember how he use to come watch me playing soccer at the stadium, encouraging me, hearing his voice at the side of field kept me going. Sometimes also we wil fight and argue when I have bad game day and we loss he came back home and make fun of me.  But my uncle was the only person in the family I will see  standing next to me at the field of play. I missed that his calm gentle voice. He spoke proper English like an Englishman. Always in my heart

I WILL MISS YOUR JOKES.

September 2, 2015

I can still hear Ngia Anyeh telling me Evelyn is not around and that he is her representative, taking me for a ride, when I come visiting. Then, during harvest another usual joke was him telling me," You can't go home alone. Here is your companion", refering to a bundle of freshly harvested maize.
And when Evelyn was leaving home, you requested that this not be the last time you were seeing us. I've always hoped I will call again. But now it won't  be to see Ngia Anyeh anymore. What a loss !!

A remarkable Brother

August 31, 2015

My brother  Ngia Anye had lots of challenges in his entire life here on earth. Despite all the trials he faced he remained very responsive, wity, kind ,and generous. He was likable by so many as a result of that attitude. His love for his entire family was remarkable.Very appreciative. His famous phrase was "thank you very immensely." On this note, I will say to my brother, thank you very immensely for being a good big brother, for teaching me life long lessons through your wit, and more importanly for loving me for who I am. I can still hear the echos of your soothing voice telling me "it's alright, it's alright Evelyn."  I will live to appreciate you until we meet again.

By for now.

It was not a chance encounter, it was ordained ...

August 31, 2015

I met Ni Goddy in April of 2002 when I was myself was in mourning. We instantly bonded not only because I was about to ask for his sister's hand but we shared a love for choral music and computers. His intelligence was deep, his belief in family was unshakable and his modesty was unmistakable. The few and far between interactions we had were deep teaching moments. His transition is a deep and personal loss. As an in-law, Ngia Goddy leaves behind really big shoes that would be hard to fill. He will be in our hearts for ever.
