He was a loving father, husband and friend to all. Passionate about his relationship with Jesus, he was a man of principle who practiced what he believed. As a Bible scholar he enjoyed discussing the Word always with a tract in hand to share wherever he went. As patriarch of the mitchell family the loss of his presence will be forever felt yet, his legacy of faithfulness to the unbending principles of truth remain. He leaves to cherish many memorable moments : his wife Catherine of 60 years affectionately called "Katie", sons Frank V (Claudette) Mitchell of Staten Island New York, Alfred T (Denise) Mitchell MD of League City Texas, Pastor Godwin R (Gasie) Mitchell Jr of Winston Salem North Carolina, daughters Kathleen C (Larry) Mitchell-Barker MD of Chattanooga Tennessee, Debrah E (Andre ) Marks RN of Ocala, Alisha C (Gary) Anson of Reddick, Tracey E (Vincent ) Newton of Ocala, 19 loving grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brothers Roger (Ann) Mitchell, David (Mae) Mitchell, and many extended relatives and friends.
