My Uncle Grady

August 17, 2015

My uncle wasn't around much, but when he did come around we had good times and laughter. I'm glad his wife was in his life of the 4 yrs he was going thru his battle. Life is to short these days so please cherish your love ones while you still can.

God's Garden

God looked around his garden and found a empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your loving face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.gods garden must be beautiful; he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were In pain. God saw the road has gotten rough. He gently closed those weary eyes and whisper Peace be Thine.

Luv U Uncle Grady

Always Tonya

My memories of Pop

August 16, 2015

For a long time my father wasn't present in my life. I used to wonder if he thought about me or wanted to see me. In 2013 God answered a life long prayer to reunite me with him. He made me aware of his illness, didn't think it was as bad as it was. I will cherish our talks, his visits, and him. Thought I had more time, but God had a better plan. I thank him for the time allowed to get some things off my heart because for a long time it was heavy. I'm glad he got to see his grandson, and all I have left is the memory of our last convo at my mom's house and him telling me for the last time that he loved me.

Pop, I love you always. I've found comfort in the fact you're not suffering anymore. I am your daughter and I'm going to miss hearing your voice.

birthday celebration

August 16, 2015

On my 51st birthday,Grady took me to the Red Lobster on 95th street. Is it any wonder that I was paying more attention to him than to the food with that look in his eyes ? The last time I saw that look was the day before he passed when, in one of his more lucid moments, he looked me in the eyes and said "I love you."

While Grady was learning about his phone and how to use the apps, he made this picture in an app called photofunia

graduation luncheon

August 16, 2015

In this picture is Christopher Brown (front row).Me, Diane Brown-Griffin,my mother, Dinalyna Brown, our daughter, Christina Brown, and of course,Grady
This was taken at our son Christopher's graduation luncheon in 2011. Grady was always very supportive of Christopher. They were best-buds, even though Christopher most of the time didn't want Grady and I to sit together. And heaven help us if we kissed in front of Christopher. As the years went by Christopher and Grady got closer and closer. Christopher considers the front passenger seat of my car as his, yet he gave it up for Grady on a trip we took down to Knoxville for our oldest granddaughter's, Destini's graduation. I regret that this is one of two of the only pictures I have with both of them in it.
