Forever Legacy
I've been having an extremely difficult time trying to find the perfect words to describe what Mr. Shin and his wonderful family have meant to me over the years. Mr. Shin left an unbelievable legacy. I can honestly say that my life has been successful in part because of his patience, and the example he set by giving life all he had. He had a warrior spirit, mixed with a tender, graceful and unbelievably caring spirit wrapped into the same person. He once told me that he had enough confidence to stand in front of millions of people and sing the National Anthem because of the confidence martial arts gave him. He exemplified the saying that we should "leave this place better than we found it". When we were physically beat and too tired to continue training, he made us do more push ups, more katas (with the correct kicking, punching, stance and kia technique!), more stretches, and more sit ups than we thought imaginable. And he was always right there with us doing the same push ups, katas, and sit ups. God molded Mr. Shin into a Grandmaster of unprecedented levels. Those of us who were blessed enough to become friends with Grandmaster Calvin Shin and his wonderful family should consider ourselves touched by our Lord. If we all simply try to follow in his footsteps, imagine how much better our world could be?! All our love to the Shin Family. Vincent and Sheila Webster
