Mr. Crowder was born Tuesday, February 8, 1944, in West Point, Georgia, the son of the late Alice House Lewis and Hal Scott Crowder, Jr. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Point, serving as an Elder and the Chairman of the Evangelism Committee. Mr. Crowder worked for Batson-Cook for 20 years and retired from Carter Concrete Structures. He loved to fish, travel, and spend time with his wife and family. He was an avid Georgia Tech fan.

Survivors include his wife, Bunny Crowder of Lanett; his daughter Meredith Askew Crowder (Tina) of Mableton; his son, Scott Crowder (Dana) of Garner, North Carolina; his two grandchildren, Kaelynn and Sophie Crowder; and his brother, Leslie Crowder (Nita) of Shawmut.
