Tennessee 50th Aniversary

When I was in the 6th grade Harold was home on leave.  We lived in Custerdale and I attended St. Paul School, but on this day Harold said I could go with him (versus going to school).  We went downtown to the Howard Hotel where there was a pool hall in the basement.  Imagine that; it was my version of Ferris Buehler's Day Off.  We shot pool and hung out.  At the end of the day we came home and no one was the wiser, not my mother, none of my brothers or sisters, and of course not the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity

I never told my classmates or anyone because you could never tell who might rat on you.  It was a day I'll never forget.    Thanks Harold.
