She grew up in the church as a born again Christian and church worker.  She donated her time, talent, and service to the workmanship of the ministry.  She was always affiliated with Holly Grove Baptist Church and was the first to buy and/or contributed to chandeliers being placed in the church.  She served as the church's secretary until she moved out of the state of Mississippi. She sang in the Rising Sun Baptist Church Choir where at one point, she was also a member, she sang in the Mercy Seat Baptist Church Choir as an associate member, she attended and was a member of the New Christian Fellowship Church, and she visited and financially supported the Ministry of God in every was she could in the local community.  She was an inactive Eastern Star. She served as a Mother of Holly Grove until her demise.

Her community service was most NOTED.  She walked miles and miles without food to get people in the local area registered to vote. She was member of the NAACP, FDP, and other Political and Civic organizations geared toward helping the community.  She never ran or worked in a public office, but slaved to help others get there.
