He was the most wonderful father a little girl could have ever wished for. I could always count on my dad to be there for me. I have so many memories of him. I remember my 1st day of school I cried not wanting to leave my dad but he told me if I would be a good girl that he would be right there when I got out. So I did and when that bell rang I ran out of that room and looked down that hall and there stood the biggest man and i knew it was my dad. I broke and ran he picked me up swung me around and I remembered him hugging me and while hugging me saying, " I told you daddy would be here. " I was the happiest little girl in the whole world because my dad my hero had kept his promise. That's one thing my dad always taught his kids, to always keep your word. But the best one is his love for family and life. He never judged people and if he ever told you anything he would stand by it his word meant everything. Even after he wad in a car accident and couldn't walk anymore that didn't slow him down he still had time for family we would play football on sundays and he would play quarter back or we would load up and all go fishing. My dad was my hero and always will be. Strange how when we are kids we never think our parents will one day not believe they will one day be gone. I love him as much today as the day God called him home. I might not have my dad, my hero but I will always have his love and wisdom he taught me growing up and I know one day I will see that big man standing with his arms opened wide waiting to lift me up and say daddy promised you I would be waiting for you and once again feeling his arms giving me that famous hug and smile I still remember all those years ago. So until that time comes ,I will go on loving and missing the greatest man I will ever know, My Dad. I love and miss you daddy.
