Happy Birthday Heber! We are still working on the art of fighting for our dollar. Wish you were here so we could give you a used birthday card. Miss you.

I served with Elder Molten in the St. Petersburg, Russia mission in the same city for quite a few months. Heber was a great source of laughs but at the same time, a sweet humility. After the mission, Heber joined me on a road trip from Utah to Washington D.C. filling in last minute when another friend couldn't go and my parents didn't want me making the trip myself. Heber was always up for anything- life was a big adventure. It was that road trip that I realized his taste in music was terrible, but we'll forgive him for that ;D. When I later saw posts of him in Hawaii, I thought it suited him well. Great guy. I'm very sad to see that he is not with us anymore.

Heber, I can't believe it's been 10 years. You were truly larger than life and one of a kind. May you be wrapped in Heavenly Father's arms until we meet again. In the meantime, you are loved and missed here. I think of you every time I make it to the ocean.

Heber,

You were one of those rare people that were so pure in your vision of life that I am often reminded of how you have impacted mine in many ways. I don't think you realized, by knowing who you are and being an original, made everyone look up to you. Thanks for being a great example!

Miss you Brother!

We think of Heber whenever we save money or get a good deal on something. Heber use to always say, “fight for your dollar”! It’s a common phrase between Darrick and I.

I just purchased a Pee-Wee Herman mobile. It's an orange e assisst cargo bike with orange panniers and a large basket on back. Now I just need a pair of white wing tip shoes with cleats to be official.

I miss you brother. Got another set of twins on the way. Two boys. Wouldn't be surprised if you know already. I think a little more about the other side now since my dad passed away a couple of months ago, not that I'm in any rush to follow, I just miss him also and the idea of reunions on the other side have never been more important to me. I guess you never really can tell for sure how others feel, but I have the greatest affection for you, and your friendship has been one of the most important I have had. I don't know for sure if you felt the same, and really it's ok if you didn't, just want you to know how I have always felt.

Heber,
I remember the times we would go to your garden on the side of the mountain, and make plans for an epic tree house up there. Last time Olya and I hacked through the over grown jungle and found it. It was cool to see the spot where you grew your own food. Those were the days, talking of the time you would buy land in Belize and live off the grid. I learned resourcefulness from you! Today, I went out to the West side of Oahu, to remember you. Love you!

If can can, if no can - NO CAN! I remember this t-shirt you had, and you explaining to me what it meant. You always make people laugh, and were so devoted to Olya. I loved hearing her talk about your Romeo and Juliet moment when she was talking to you from the ground outside the medical building, and you were on the balcony. We miss you.

Heber’s words of wisdom....
“FIGHT FOR YOUR DOLLAR”
This famous quote has been a recurring mantra in our home from the day we met Heber. We think of him every time we say it.
He knew how to stretch a dollar further than anyone and didn’t get caught in the trap of materialism. He knew what mattered most and lived those principles every day of his life.
We miss you Heber and your hilarious and adventurous spirit. Until we meet again.

Aloha Heber!
I remember the many hours you spent helping me in the bishop's office. I would not been an effective bishop without your support and guidance. You were always there next door during my late night interviews making sure i'm safe and protected. Our McCully Ward was blessed by your dedicated service. Your humility and devotion to your clerk's calling inspired me to do better. I love you so much, Heber!

Heber, I'm living in South Florida now and as I have searched for things to do to enjoy this wave-less shore I have thought a lot about the way you enjoyed the ocean while not being a surfer and I have been inspired by your example. I have a kayak and I have been using it to fish off shore and out in the Everglades. I love you brother and I miss you!

Happy Birthday Heber! Today I remember all the fun times we had hanging out at BYU-Hawaii... Especially when you pretended that you don't know English, while 4 of us (poor students) were sitting in a hot tub at the Turtle Bay resort and a security guy was kicking us out... Scary... but so much fun!

I drove by the Karaoke place we all sang at the other day and had fond memories of time spent with Heber and Olya! I remember one Hallowen those two staying late to help clean up after my party! They were ALWAYS thoughtful! And who could forget Heber climbing the cocnut tree at Waimanalo!
Heber was always kind and very funny! I am glad to know he is in a better place and enjoying peace and happiness!

He was indeed a good man - gentle, kind, attentive, intelligent & faithful. I recall vividly the way he stood by you, Olya. His presence near you reflected admiration, submission & adoration. I say this w the utmost sincerity. Heber is one Man I trust (know) was such a good Man. I only wish sincerely Heber was still here with you Olya. Rest in Peace, Dear Friend

I am often reminded of Heber when Cora plays a birthday video I made for her (which she watches all the time). In it is a clip of Heber being good ol Heber. It was a beautiful Easter afternoon and we were at Kapiolani Park. Heber had all the kids attention because he was juggling. He was always so fun to be around. We will forever miss him until we meet again. We love you!

Heber, You are loved, and missed, I can't think of Hawaii and not think of you. When I think of going back to the islands and doing something really fun, it almost always brings me back to a fond memory of an adventure we've shared. Thanks for living life to the fullest. You are a great example to me still.

It seems like just yesterday that I held your hand and fell asleep next to you thinking that I was the happiest girl in the world. I still don't know how to live without you and miss you every day. Thank you for being the most amazing husband I could ever dream of and I hope you know how much you are loved.

Just Heavenly

Heber,

As you know we have shared way to many adventures to note down here. I look back fondly at that time of our lives my friend. I'll never forget when we got pulled over and ticked for speeding in the temple parking lot in Hawaii. Let's just say we were enthusiastic to serve the Lord.;) I know that you are still in the service of your Heavenly Father. Godspeed my friend. We love and miss you!

Heber's brain child

September 22, 2017

I bought a stand up paddle board in 2009 or so, and when Heber got on the board he was hooked. He quickly was looking for options, but they were on average to expensive. Soon there after he found an inflatable kayak, ofcourse as the practical guy that he was. He liked it but still wanted the ability to stand.

We were talking one day and said you need to make this...(The Photo) An inflatable cross between a kayak and a paddle board. Thanks Heber for the great Idea. This one is for you! Happy belated birthday!

How to get a date by Heber....

September 8, 2014

I was enjoying a month surf vacation at my uncles place across from sunset beach in Hawaii. Heber was going to school at BYUH at the time. After a priesthood meeting I decided to meet him on campus and he was going to show me how to get a date. I said ok have at it. So Heber approached some cute girl and said if I get those coconuts up there off of that palm tree will you go out with me. She accepted. So he took his shoes off, scaled the tree. Got to the top rattled around the coconuts and a few fell down. He then came down and opened them up for her. So there you go.
