On Wednesday evening, June 4, 2015 the Lord came by Universal healthcare nursing center in Oxford, NC and closed the eyes of Helen Beatrice Street.

Helen was born September 9, 1929 to the parents of Sula and Louis Fields in Roxboro, NC. Helen joined Elijah Grove Baptist Church and was a faithful member until she moved to Newark, NJ in 1949. Once she returned to North Carolina in 1973 she renewed her membership at Elijah Grove.

Helen worked at Murdoch Center in Butner, NC where she was a devoted caregiver in the infirmary unit. She enjoyed taking care of patients with special needs and did so for 18 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a Christian woman and loved to spend time with her family.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Elijah Grove Baptist Church, Roxboro, NC by the Reverend Alfred Faulkner. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Helen is survived by her son Barry Street of Apex, NC, two grandchildren; Mariah and Tyler Street of Apex NC, two aunts; Frelia Fields of Oxford and Hattie Street of Creedmoor, caring cousins, Rachel, Mary, Rosa, Helen, Claudine and Willie; a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Sula Fields.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.
