This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Hendrika Herridge, 78 years old, born on July 11, 1935, and passed away on February 8, 2014. We will remember her forever.

Ouma Pop was a strong believer in "padkos" - you don't buy fast food on the road when you're travelling. You pack a cooler box with sandwiches, frikadelle, and leftovers from yesterday's lunch.
The ritual for having "padkos" was always the same - before you have travelled even 100km from home, the first person in the vehicle would complain of hunger. Everyone will start to look out for a table & chairs beside the road. The cooler box, flask of freshly brewed, overly sweet coffee and blankets will be taken out and breakfast/brunch/lunch will be enjoyed right there, beside the road.
This picture was taken on one such occassion just outside of Groblershoop, while en-route to Warrenton for Ouma Pop to go visit one of her daughters.
