Henry Halbert "Hal" Kearney, 77, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at this home.

A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Kit Karson Kearney and Alma Wright. He was a member of Pope’s Chapel Christian Church and was a manager of many Roses stores in the southeast.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Pope’s Chapel Christian Church , 1237 Pocomoke Rd., Franklinton NC by Reverend Alan Skinner, Sr.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, Faye Ellington Kearney of the home, two daughters, Alisa K. Medlin (Tim) of Bunn, Sharon K. Jones (Michael ) of Franklinton, three grandsons, Nathan and Derrick Freeman and Ethan Medlin and two granddaughters, Bridgette and Chloe Jones, a great- granddaughter, Maddison Freeman and a son-in-law Albert H. Freeman. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy K. Freeman, three sisters and three brothers.

In lieu of flowers is requested or memorials may be made to Pope’s Chapel Christian Church, 1237 Pocomoke Rd., Franklinton, NC 27525.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at Pope’s Chapel Christian Church and other times at the home.
