His Life

November 7, 2015 - Memorial Service

November 11, 2015

Thank you to the family and friends who have shared their tributes through cards, calls, and at the memorial service.

After the memorial service and after the sun set, Dwayne's family released his ashes into the sea from Sanibel Island.  In a rare occurance, Mars, Jupiter,  and Venus aligned in plain view from earth.   From building E at the Sundial Beach Resort, the moon reflection glowed on the exact spot where his ashes were released.  Peace always.

Since 2010,  he visited nursing homes, children in the hospital, and kindergarden children with Eli, his Laboradoodle, who spread unconditional love wherever he went.

During Dwayne's 3 month fight for rehabilitation following 2 strokes and 2 heart attacks and a fall between 4/30 and 7/31, Eli provided much comfort as he laid on his bed, encouraged him during his therapies, and gave him many kisses.

This picture was taken on July 30, 2015 during his peaceful stay in hospice.  Eli is now retired from therapy work and will enjoy beach walks and playing with Dwayne's daughter, Laura, in Gulfport, FL.
