I found myself thinking about you today. I still have our last conversation saved. I read it often and so wish we would have reconnected sooner! Till we meet again save a spot for me.

To Ian on your birthday,

         Until We Meet Again

     The special memories of you
      will always bring a smile.
If only I could have you back
for just a little while, then we could
sit and talk again just like we used
to do. You always meant so very
much and always will do too. The
fact that you're no longer here will
always cause me pain, but you're
forever in my heart until we meet
      again........

Miss and think of you often. How I wish we could have had that one day together that we had planned. If only I had known that our time was limited. I thank God every day that I had a chance to be part of your life...even for a short time. You will never be forgotten and forever missed....

Ian Bole,

I made sure that I got reminders in my email to allow myself to remember you and always keep you in my memory. You were a great friend even though we only knew each other for a short time. I lost my daughter back in 2013, her name is Emily Jean Shafer. If you see her up there in heaven please give her a big hug and a kiss from myself and her mother. I wish we could go workout one last time together, but do me a favor and save a bench for me. I will see you again one day brother. Semper Fidelis devil dog and even though you weren't an official paratrooper, Paratroopers never die, they just slip away!

Love you bro,

Jack Shafer

Ian,

I know it is a little late brother, took me a long time to find somewhere to leave you a note. I only wish I could have been there man. I remember being in Afghanistan and going to the gym together. You were a big part of my life and it was definitely a pleasure to have served by your side. God always has a plan for everyone and I am definitely a better person by being in that path. I know your up there with the other Ghost Riders. Keep an eye on us from time to time brother. Love you bro.

Ian, thank you for you’re service to our Country, your love of music, your humor and love of friends and family. You are so missed.

Greg and Kelly raised a great man that brought genuine happiness to everyone. What a son to be proud of! He was a positive impact in the lives of all that knew him.

I remember going to Aunt Kellys when we were little and Ian would make us watch Family dog all day everyday while we were playing with his legos!! He was such a funny guy all the time and could always make you laugh!
