I would like to say a few words about my friend Ibidolapo. She and I have been friends since university, which was over twenty years ago. She has always been there when I needed her and I miss her dearly. Dolapo was a hard-working, intelligent, caring, thoughtful and a very spiritual person. She was very close to her friends and had a very intimate relationship with her family and had a lot of people who cared about her.
One of Dolapo’s best traits was that she always lived her life to the fullest and loved to help people in any way she can. Many people know that we both carried our third pregnancies together and whenever I was feeling down and needed a friend to lean on she was there for me all through that period until i had my baby a week before she had complications and eventually passed. We have been through a lot over the years, but no matter where life took us we knew we could count on one another.
Dolapo taught me a lot over the years. She taught me important things like growing my faith, how to be a better me and the fellowship she has in the place of prayer every morning when we lived together was priceless. But she also taught me simple things like the value of friendship and how to balance career and family.
It isn’t possible to put into words the importance of her friendship and how much Dolapo meant to me. She positively influenced my life in so many ways and I miss her with all of my heart. Dolapo, thank you for your friendship, I will miss you forever and never forget all of the time we spent together.
