The daughter of the late Eddie Sr. and Sallie Morris Florence, Mrs. Miles was born in Cottonton, AL on March 20, 1927. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ft. Mitchell, AL and was employed as a domestic engineer, serving many families within the Columbus area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Miles, and seven siblings, Eddie Florence, Jr., Willie Florence, Emma Lee Hardman, Penora Sanks, Beatrice Florence (Jefferson), Charlie Mae Florence and Garine Florence.
Surviving are: two sisters, Bertha Florence and Carrie Mae Scott; two brothers, Otis Florence and William Florence; a beloved niece whom she raised, Robbie Miles; two great nieces, Erika Miles and Nichole Miles; a great great nephew, Micah Kimber; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
