Hermosa Beach
My Grandmother Ilene would call us when we where small and say we're going to the beach get ready but remember it's just for a few hours. My siblings, Shelly, Julee, Blane and some times my Uncle Jackie would spend hours swimming with Grandma in the waters of Hermosa Beach. Grandma taught us all how to swim in those waters with the waves crashing on us. We weren't lake, pool or river babies. We were ocean swimmers only. To this day I really only enjoy the Pacific Ocean and it's waves. Oh and the couple of hours were always 4 or 5 hours as she loved the beach as much as we did. One of my favorite memories of that time was driving home in the back seat of Grandma's big gold Pontiac Bonneville, totally worn out from the day, sucking the salt water from my long sandy blonde hair. I loved you then Grandma and I still love you now. I am what I am partly because of the love you gave to us. RIP
