This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Ira Thomas Shotwell III, 63, born on July 10, 1953 and passed away on October 17, 2016. We will remember him forever. Originally from Littlefield, TX, the son of Dr. Ira Thomas Shotwell, Jr and Lena Gibson Shotwell, Tom was a Naval Veteran of the Viet Nam era.  He was also an avid Grateful Dead fan, music and sports enthusiast. In addition, he was a longtime Peace Activist with GreenPeace. While holding an Assosicates Degree in Political Science and loved to debate a number of different important issues, he had recently completed and acted as lead in 3 student films at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA where he had made his home the last 25 years.  In passing, Mr. Shotwell leaves behind his wife of 16+ years, 2 Adult Step Children,  Kimberly Perrigo and husband Phil, Tim GIbson and wife Melody and several step grandchildren and one step great grandchild, his sister Sally Mae Shotwell, two nephews Alex Robinson and family and Nick along with scores of fellow Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead fans, friends across the country and around the world.  He will be forever missed by all those who knew him whether only for a day, a week, a month, a year or a lifetime. For, Tom truly was one of the nost kind, generous, giving and sweet hearted pepole to ever walk on the face of the earth  -May he always RIP forever and a day.

Pepper The Magic Dog also loves and misses you - she seems to understand and I know if she could speak she would also tell you much she loves and misses you for she tells me each and every day. RIP my sweet Mr. T RIP.
