We Love You Daddy!

May 25, 2015

I guess all kids that have good parents think theirs are the best in the world and to them they are and when you grow a little older and get married with kids of your own you realize parents were human and had faults like everyone else.
Then when you got older to my age and they are gone and you miss them everyday, you think they were the best thing in the world.....I would love to see them one more time........My Dad was a good man, a talented man, hard working person. He served his country in the Korean Conflect, they did't call it a war even though he served his time in battle on the front lines and a few weeks Dad said before he was to be released, he got shot by a sniper in his leg and they sent him home ......Talk about rotten timing, I always think of Dad when they show a picture of that funny looking little Korean guy that runs N.Korea now. Dad would tell us stories about that place and the children over there. Soldiers weren't supposed to give their searations away to the korean children, but he said he couldn't eat knowing they didn't have food , and other soldiers couldn't either....must have been a pretty awful place. At breakfast, some mornings Daddy would tell us things about over there, some of it was funny.....moma would just shake her head and smile. Daddy was a jokester and like to make people smile and usually it didn't take him long to put a smile on someone face.
He was very musical He played music in several bands when he was younger.....There wasn't an intrument he picked up he couldn't play.....He taught my Moms 2 brothers (Marvin and David) and his 2 brothers (Roy and Coy) to play and also his son my brother Mike to play intruments....so I guess you would say we were a very musical family. On weekends always I would sit around and listen to them play....I was so proud of my Daddy! He wrote songs too and before he died he wrote the song " In the Arms of Jesus " we sang it at his and mom's funeral....I guess they will at mine to keep the tradition going. About 10 yrs. before Daddy died he got really sick with heart disease, nuropathy, and diabetes. The nuropathy kept him in a lot of pain, but mom took care of him they took care of each other. I know in my lifetime I will never find a man that loves me like my Dad loved my mom....He loved her so much and she she did him, she stuck right by his side. I think when he died that Christmas morning 1:20 a.m., a part of her died too she was never the same, you could tell by that lonely look in her eyes....Well I know they are dancing and singing to the Lord Jesus now in heaven and I'm so happy for them both. BUT DADDY THIS IS YOUR SPECIAL DAY, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY , THERESA, BARBARA, AND MIKE AND THE REST OF THE FAMILY WANTS TO SAY HOW MUCH WE MISS AND LOVE YOU .........HAVE A FANTASTIC BIRTHDAY DADDY.....SING AN EXTRA SONG FOR US .....WE LOVE YOU AND MOMA !!!!!
