How do I start or begin to say farewell to you my brother, my egbon?
IY I hoped against hope, I prayed, I was strong for you and you were strong for me. You held on, stayed strong till the end and now you are GONE! ... The silence is deafening…The Victory is Won because when we are born the battle for our souls starts and that you triumphed at the end is all that matters.
“Are you Iyalla’s sister”? was all I heard growing up. I grew under your shadow and protection. Nobody tried me because I had you. On the day of your birth a HERO was born, a bright star was sent from above, a warrior, a champion, intelligent, gifted, special… You always stood out from the crowd, you never went unnoticed.
I remember our long trips by road to secondary school together all the way from Port Harcourt to Lagos. When you passed into Kings College, you inspired me to go to Queens College. We were the Lagos Duo. I always talked about you. I was always proud to be your sister.
A Dedicated MAN’ U fan, Phoebe and Jason’s Dad, a Man of the people.
I-Y-A- double L-A (I always spelt your name when hailing you) I love you and miss you.
Father, thank you for your love for Iyalla. For standing strong with him till the end and for accepting his soul in paradise. To the only WISE GOD be all the GLORY, all the HONOUR and all the POWER both now and forever more. Amen.
Your Sister,
Ibinabo.
