His Life
June 22, 2012

Jack was born in Cedartown, Georgia, and came to West Point when he was 6 years old.  He graduated from West Point High School and went on to Auburn University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He worked at the West Point Foundry & Machine Company for 49 years where he designed textile machinery, sold it, and retired as the Quality Control Manager.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in West Point and enjoyed attending the Wesley Men’s Sunday School Class.  Jack loved his family very much.  He enjoyed traveling and took his family on many vacations.  He spent some of his free time shopping for antiques and refinishing furniture as well as working in the yard.  He was a very giving person and was always glad to help anyone who needed handyman work done around the house.  He greatly missed the people and the area of West Point after moving to Fort Worth a year ago.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Daniel Hamrick, II, his mother, Sara Louise Jackson Hamrick, and one brother, James Daniel Hamrick, III.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bobbie Gene Wilson Hamrick of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Carol Ann Hamrick of Duluth, Georgia, and Gene Hamrick Parks (Dave) of Colleyville, Texas; and three grandchildren, Brian Parks, Rebecca Parks, and Sara Grace Parks.
