January 12, 1974, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Jacob Carson Elledge. He stole my heart the first time I looked at him. As he grew he became such a smart and precious child, a son I knew I'd always be proud of. In Jr. High he placed 2nd in The Catholic Schools Spelling Bee, won 1st place in The Math and Science Competition at SIUE and won MVP Soccer Award at the 8th Grade Sports  Banquet. In high school, he made Who's Who Among  American High Students his junior and senior year. He was a family person and would do anything for his family that he loved very much. He made his dad and I so proud. In May of 2001 he met his future wife, Misty Johnson, and on April 29th, 2006 he married her. She was the love of his life. In January 2010,he and Misty found out they were having twins, a boy and a girl. He was so excited. Jake was always a positive person and smiled all the time. In February, after a mild head injury his smile faded and never came back. Then on May 4, 2010, he passed away and went to heaven. WE never thought we would lose him and  we miss himso much and have a heartache that will never go away. We love you, Jake.
