ForeverMissed

This memorial website was created in memory of my Grandfather, Jim Sawyer Sr., 83, born on July 14, 1930 ( I aplogize that I may have his birth year wrong) and passed away on February 9, 2014.

Unable to find his obituary online, I decided to build this page in his memory. "Pop-Pop" liked to be acknowledged and celebrated, and as the one year anniversary of his passing approaches, I want to make sure that there is something that, for all eternity, will remain in the public eye to celebrate him.

Day Care

February 3, 2015

As a little girl, my grandfather would pick me up from day care on his way home from work. The entire day, I would repeat "My Pop-Pop is coming" over and over again until he arrived. We would stop at a store on the way to my grandparent's home, and he'd let me buy something completely sugary :)

He would sing or hum something Frank Sinatra while I talked his ear off without ever losing his patience with me. In my entire life, I don't recall even one moment when he was harsh with me.

He once gave me a St. Christopher medal that I kept on my keychain to "keep me safe". It is over 100 years' old, and the faces are worn off, but I still have, and carry, that medal on the same keychain, more than 15 years later.

xoxo
